The Sony Centre for the Performing Arts is the premier live stage theatre in Toronto, presenting major shows from the around the world. Formerly known as the OKeefe Centre, this historic landmark has been hosting live shows since 1960. It is the largest indoor theatre in Canada, having over 3100 seats, some of which are wheelchair accessible. Shows reflect the cultural diversity of the city and consist of top acts that are touring the globe. Many large-scale musical shows premier in Canada through this building. The theatre has modern seating and excellent acoustics, and a large lobby contains a refreshment area that includes bar service. A large parking facility is available opposite the rear of the theatre on The Esplanade. Tickets are available if purchased in person at the box office or you can purchase tickets online or by phone using Ticketmaster. The centre can also be rented for corporate events such as trade shows, product launches, seminars and fund raisers.
