The Irish Embassy is in the historic
British Colonial building built in 1873, this pub and restaurant occupies the ground floor of what was once a Victorian bank.
The
spectacular original interior remains intact, from the Roman pillars to the grand domed ceiling. The decor makes having a meal here feel more like fine dining at an Embassy, rather than pub grill. But the plasma tv screens and talk of sport and business give it the grand pub atmosphere.
The hospitality is Irish but the menu has a wide range of choices. There are meatballs and burgers made from bison, flat bread pizza, and tandoori chicken skewers. Calamari, PEI mussels, and Indian chicken curry are listed alongside Irish stew and Irish cocktail sausage. Standards like striploin steak and atlantic salmon round out the menu. For those looking for something a bit different, a smoked trout salad, blackened salmon sandwich or the original Irish poutine are all items to savour.
Traditional Irish breakfasts are served at brunch each weekend.
Located directly on Yonge Street less than a block from the King subway station, this restaurants location makes it a great place to meet your friends or to even
host a private party function. 416-866-8282 The excellent menu selections combined with the historical setting helped it win the
Best Pub award three years in a row.
