Old Town Toronto - Home Décor & Art

The home décor or furniture design district of Toronto is Old Town Toronto.  It is located mainly along King St. E.  The area holds over 100 top home furnishings, interior design, decorating supplies, from tile to paint, and art gallery shops.  This clustering of furniture stores, interior designers and home decorating shops, runs from Yonge St., past Parliament St. and into Corktown with Ritchie’s Auction Gallery and into the Distillery District.  King St E. was the “High Street" the main shopping street and public promenade during the 1890's of Old Town Toronto  The term "doing King St." means visiting all the shops to see what's new, this was a common term.  Today it is still said buy home decorators and colour consultants, taking their clients though the home decor shops and galleries. Old Town offers shoppers many bistros and restaurants to lunch and talk.  From kitchen designs from Italy, Germany and France, to kitchen gadgets, antique furniture to modern furniture,  if you are looking for bedroom furniture or home decorating gifts, this is the best home décor shopping strip in Toronto, maybe anywhere.
